Global College Research Team Wins Best Paper Award at the 4th Health-Oriented Tourism & Food Conference

The research team from Global College at Kyungsung University (President Lee Jong-geun) was recently awarded the Best Paper Award for two research papers at the 4th Health-Oriented Tourism & Food Conference held in Kathmandu, Nepal. This international academic conference, which focuses on health-oriented tourism and the food industry, brought together researchers from various countries including Korea, Japan, the United States, China, Macau, and Nepal.

Under the supervision of Professor Hak-Seon Kim, the team consisted of Kim Seieun and Aura Lydia Riswanto, and master’s students Thinh Phuoc Phat Nguyen and Sonam Sherpa. The team presented two papers:

  • “Gastronomic Identity Shift”, which analyzed the food adaptation of international students in Korea through the lens of the Health Belief Model and behavioral intention, and

  • “Visual Attention and Attitude Toward Café Menus”, which explored the impact of café menu design on consumer responses using eye-tracking technology.

Both papers were highly evaluated for their academic contribution and were granted a Fast Track Review opportunity by the International Journal of Tourism Research (Wiley), an internationally recognized SSCI Q1 journal.

Professor Kim stated, “This award and the SSCI journal review opportunity highlight the international research competitiveness of our Global College team,” and added, “We will continue to conduct research that makes practical contributions to the tourism and food service industries.”
